A biting satire on John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, by Charles Churchill.
Churchill wrote this attack as Montagu was a bitter enemy of Churchills close friend and ally, John Wilkes, champion of liberty of the press. Montagu has lead the successful prosecution of Wilkes for obscene libel.
Wilkes and Churchill became friends in 1761 or 1762, and over the following few years before Churchills death, he published many works in defence of Wilkes.
